You never know where life is going to take you is a phrase my Grandfather loved to use. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would own a vacation property but back in 2007 I purchased an old farmhouse on the banks of The Colorado River in Bastrop Tx and began to remodel it.

 

Soon friends and family wanted to stay the weekends and hang out. It was reminiscent of the family vacations of my youth when, without much money, we would set off on a road trip to a great adventure fairly close to home.

 

Sometimes it was a multi family outing with friends or cousins that would join along. Sometimes it was just our family but the memories we built back then are cherished today.

 

So, the beginnings of StaycationSpaces was born. I absolutely love hosting families and groups to these properties that hold such meaning for me. Seeing the chaos of the world fade away as they settle into the spaces is such a reward for me and my family.

Eventually, I made the decision to seek out other like minded property owners and get the word out, so to say, about these incredible properties that are near enough to home that you don't have to spend hours at the airport or days on the road. You drive across town or perhaps a few hours away and settle into the fun and relaxation of your vacation. Perhaps you go as a family or with friends, regardless you build memories that last a lifetime.

We focus on fewer properties but the properties we showcase are special places, owned by special folks, who enjoy seeing folks build memories and go out of their way to make magical moments at magical properties.
